Wait... what!?
Yep. "God Mode" is a sort of hidden feature in Windows. Though what it does is not as impressive as it sounds.
It offers a convenient way for users to access a wide range of system settings and control panel options from a single folder. It doesn't really grant any special administrative privileges or "god-like" powers, it simply consolidates many of Windows' configuration tools into one place.
How to Enable "God Mode"
Create a New Folder:
- Right-click on your desktop (or any folder location) and select New > Folder.
Rename the Folder:
- Copy and paste the following text as the folder's name:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
- Press Enter to save the name.
Access GOD Mode:
- The folder icon will change to a control panel-like icon. Double-click it to open it.
- Inside, you'll see a list of hundreds of system settings, tools, and options, all organized into categories.
What Can You Do with "God Mode"?
God Mode provides access to almost every configuration option in Windows, including:
- System Settings: Display, power options, user accounts, etc.
- Network Settings: Network adapters, sharing options, etc.
- Hardware Settings: Device Manager, printers, sound settings, etc.
- Administrative Tools: Disk management, event viewer, task scheduler, etc.
- Security Settings: Firewall, encryption, updates, etc.
Notes:
- God Mode made its first appearance with Windows Vista, but it has been a feature of all versions of Windows since then.
- It’s not a secret or unsupported feature—it’s just a hidden convenience tool.
- You may rename the folder to something else (e.g., "Settings Master" or "Control Center") by changing the
GodMode
part of the folder name, but the.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
part must remain unchanged.
This feature is particularly useful for power users who want to streamline access to advanced settings without navigating through multiple menus.
